A FILM BY DANNY BOYLE STARRING JAMES MCAVOY, VINCENT CASSEL & ROSARIO DAWSON TO OPEN IN THE UK ON 27 MARCH 2013

London, 3 January 2013 - Pathé and Twentieth Century Fox announce today that Danny Boyle’s new film TRANCE will be released in the UK on Wednesday 27 March 2013.

Following the spectacular London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Academy Award® winning director Danny Boyle returns to the big screen with this psychological thriller about a fine art auctioneer, mixed up with a criminal gang, who join forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. TRANCE stars James McAvoy (Atonement, X-Men First Class), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Mesrine) and Rosario Dawson (Seven Pounds, Sin City).

Boyle said: “After a mad summer with London 2012, it's great to get back to the day job; treachery and intrigue on the screen rather than behind-the-scenes! I wanted to do something different, mix things up a bit, and I think TRANCE does that - it's a twisting psychological thriller and I hope an entertaining ride that people will enjoy watching and arguing about afterwards!”

The film re-unites Boyle with many of his frequent collaborators including screenwriter John Hodge (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave) and Underworld’s Rick Smith who has composed the original score.
