X-MEN: FIRST CLASS - Let battle commence

Twentieth Century Fox launch ‘X-Men: First Class #Hashtag Battle’ game on Facebook and Twitter

The two main protagonists in Twentieth Century Fox’s new film X-Men: First Class, directed by Mathew Vaughn, have started their epic battle on Facebook and Twitter before the film hits UK cinemas.

Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) are looking to build support from fans around the world. To help them do this Twentieth Century Fox have launched a new game called ‘X-Men: First Class Hashtag Battle’, which is being played out across Facebook and Twitter.

You can either support Charles Xavier by tweeting ‘Killing will not bring you peace’ #CharlesXavier, or Erik Lehnsherr, by tweeting ‘Peace was never an option’ #ErikLehnsherr.

The battle unfolds within the dedicated Facebook application on the X-Men: First Class official Facebook page. The application collects data from Twitter and aggregates the number of tweets that contain the #hashtag for Charles Xavier (#CharlesXavier) and Erik Lehnsherr (#ErikLehnsherr ). The application then compares this data and displays who is winning.

X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
